Wicked No More

“Surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me.” Psalm 51:5
Have you ever thought about what makes someone “bad”? Is it something we’re born with, or does it happen because of the choices we make and the things we go through? These are big questions, but they’re important ones.
The Bible teaches us that all of us have something called a sin nature. This means we’re born with hearts that naturally lean toward doing things that aren’t right. Psalm 51:5 says, “Surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me.” That doesn’t sound like great news, does it? But the story doesn’t stop there.
God knows we can’t fix this on our own. That’s why He sent Jesus to make a way for us to become something brand new. The Bible says in 2 Corinthians 5:17, “If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” Jesus changes everything!
People often judge others based on what they look like or what they’ve done. But God sees things differently. He knows our hearts and offers everyone the chance to be forgiven and loved, no matter what. Isaiah 64:6 even says that our best actions are like “filthy rags” compared to God’s perfect goodness. That may sound harsh, but it shows us how much we need Him—and how amazing His love is!
Sometimes choosing to follow God means people won’t understand us. They might even make fun of us. But Jesus told His followers in John 15:18, “If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first.” Standing up for what’s right can feel lonely, but it’s worth it.
God doesn’t want anyone to stay “wicked.” He wants everyone to turn to Him. Ezekiel 33:11 says, “I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather that they turn from their ways and live.” No matter where you’ve been or what you’ve done, God is ready to welcome you into His family.
That’s the best kind of transformation anyone can hope for.
