“Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation.”
Psalm 68:19 KJV
I remember being a kid and watching how provision came in cycles.
We didn’t always have much. When the food stamps came in at the beginning of the month, it felt like a small celebration. The cart filled up. There was cereal, juice… things that made you feel like everything was okay for a moment.
But by the end of the month, things looked different. Cabinets got quiet. Meals got simpler. And you could feel the waiting—just holding on until the next first of the month.
That rhythm sticks with you.
So when I read Psalm 68:19, one word stands out: daily.
God doesn’t operate on a monthly cycle. He’s not waiting for the next reset to take care of you. He provides in a way that meets you right where you are, today. Not all at once. Not always in excess. But faithfully.
That can be hard to trust when you’re in one of those “end of the month” seasons—when things feel thin, uncertain, or stretched.
I’ve had moments where I quietly wondered if what I had would actually be enough.
But God’s provision isn’t measured the way ours is.
Through Jesus, we’re not just getting help—we’re brought into relationship with the One who provides. He doesn’t just give things; He gives Himself. And because of that, you’re never left trying to figure life out on your own.
Philippians 4:19 reminds us that God supplies every need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus. That means His provision isn’t fragile or temporary. It’s rooted in something far deeper than our circumstances.
So if today feels a little empty, don’t assume God has stepped back.
He hasn’t.
He’s still providing. Maybe not in the way you expected, but in the way you need.
And tomorrow? You won’t have to carry that yet. He’ll meet you there too.
Pray This
Lord Jesus, help me trust You with what I have today. When I feel unsure or stretched, remind me that You are already providing. Teach me to rest in Your care and not in what I can see. Amen.
