God isn’t Answering
Have you ever cried out to God for help and it seemed like He wasn’t going to answer! The prophet Habakkuk felt the same way. He and his family were living through violence on a national scale and he was praying but not hearing God respond.
Habakkuk 1v2
O Lord, how long shall I cry for help,
and you will not hear?
Or cry to you “Violence!”
Thankfully for us, God did respond and Habakkuk recorded His response.
God said, v5
“Look among the nations, and see;
wonder and be astounded.
For I am doing a work in your days
that you would not believe if told.
God responded that He was going to do something and it would amaze them. He had not forgotten them and He did hear every prayer.
He was going to send them relief!
Although Habakkuk was grateful for God’s response, he still felt like God was ignoring them through inaction.
Sometimes, even when God gives us an answer to our prayers we may still feel in a depressed mood. Most of the time it’s because we remember the bad times more than the good. Other times, it’s because we feel like God answered too late.
Yet, God is loving and loves to give good gifts to His children, but He is also willing to wait a little longer until something inside of us changes.
