A Method to God’s Generosity
Paul reminds all believers that there is a method to God’s generosity. He gave us His One and Only Son, so in turn He expects us to give support to the work that He is doing on this earth.
Giving financially to the church can really turn people off from God because, unfortunately, some haven’t done right with the money that has been given.
Yet, God will hold those people accountable for how they managed that money and He will also hold us accountable to how we managed our own money.
Yes! God has blessed you with money to give some of it away. To who? Or Whom?
That is for you to decide through conversation with God and through reading His Word, the Bible.
“Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.”
– 2 Corinthians 9v6 – NIV
Paul is reminding us that when we don’t give generously, we won’t receive generously.
He isn’t creating a Give-to-Get formula, but by using agricultural basics, he is reminding those people and us that what you put in, is what you get out.
In God’s economy (like farming), the more you plant, the bigger the harvest at the end.
BTW, it’s not only money that God will hold you accountable, it’s your: time, energy, talent, among other things.
