Our Down Payment

Jesus has given us a down payment, so we can know that we will live forever with Him in His home. This down payment is the Holy Spirit.

2 Corinthians 5, Paul tries to make the future as understandable as possible. He tells us that our bodies are like a house. It’s the kind of house that slowly gets run down until it isn’t livable anymore.

This house, it’s only a model of the kind of house Jesus is making for us. There is a newer house that God has for us, it’s already constructed, but we can’t move in just yet.

Until that day when we can move in, He’s given us a down payment for that house. The House is in our name, it’s furnished and ready to go, but we can’t get to it.

The down payment lets us know that it’s ours.

Jesus said that it was important that He leave so that He could send us the Holy Spirit. This person would give us all we need to make it through this life until we can move into our new home.

Have you received the down payment for your eternal home? The Bible says, that those who call upon the name of Jesus shall be saved. Believe in the Jesus of the Bible and He will send His Holy Spirit to live inside of you.
