God Don’t Make Junk

God Don’t Make Junk

God is in the restoration business. God don’t make junk, someone once said. Well, this is certainly true when we look at how God doesn’t throw us away because we don’t always do what’s right. Instead, He looks to restore us through the work of the Holy Spirit.

Do you feel like you’ve gotten too far away from God or have done too much bad to be of any good to God? Well, this verse from Nahum 2v2 says different:

“The Lord will restore the splendor of Jacob
like the splendor of Israel,
though destroyers have laid them waste
and have ruined their vines.”
Nahum 2v2

At this point in God’s story, the people were in bad shape, doing all kinds of wicked things. God told them that if they didn’t stop and turn to Him, then the surrounding nations would come and destroy them.

What used to be a wonderful, fertile, green and beautiful place was turned to ruins.

In all that, God was speaking through the prophet Nahum to let the people know that even now, if they turned their hearts toward Him, God would take the ruins and turn it into splendor.

God can do that for you and has sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to make that possible for today!
