There’s something steady about this verse. No rush. No panic. Just a simple, unshaken truth—God reigns.

Not just over a people group. Not just over those who acknowledge Him. Over the nations.

That means the places that honor Him… and the places that don’t. The governments that seek justice… and the ones that don’t quite get it right. None of it sits outside His authority.

We tend to think in smaller circles. My life. My city. My country. But Scripture pulls the lens back. God is not reacting to history—He is ruling over it.

And He’s not pacing. He’s seated.

“God sits on His holy throne.” That’s not the posture of someone trying to regain control. That’s the position of a King who has never lost it.

It’s easy to feel unsettled when you look at the world. Headlines can make it seem like everything is shifting at once. But this verse reminds us—above every decision, every nation, every moment—God is still on His throne.

And that throne is holy. His rule is not careless or corrupt. It is pure, just, and good.

Jesus brings this truth closer. He doesn’t just talk about God’s kingdom—He is the King. Not just for one nation, but for all. “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth” (Matthew 28:18, NASB).

That includes your life too.

So today, you don’t have to carry the weight of trying to control what was never yours to hold. You can trust the One who reigns over all things—and does it perfectly.

Lord Jesus, help me trust Your authority over all things, even when I don’t understand what’s happening around me. Remind me that You are reigning, steady and holy, over every part of this world and my life. Amen.
