God’s Movement in Work

God’s Movement in Work

Did you know that the Earth spins at 465 meters a second. That is so fast and yet, you never notice the Earth moving below your feet.

If we are not careful, the sun would rise and set without us even noticing.

I think our work can be like that sometimes. So much happening that we don’t notice the movement of God in our lives.

Ecclesiastes 2:24-25

There is nothing better for a person than that he should eat and drink and find enjoyment in his toil. This also, I saw, is from the hand of God, for apart from him who can eat or who can have enjoyment?

When I spent time thinking about this, I realize that whenever my work (toil) turns from enjoyment to dissatisfaction, I have found that I wasn’t noticing the movement of God’s hand in my work. I saw the days go by, I spent money on stuff and ate well — but the joy faded quickly.

Just like the Earth’s movement, if I didn’t take time to watch God move through my life and work, I would missed His movement in my life.

Throughout your day take some time to stop and notice His movement in your life.
