If it Had Not Been for Jesus!

David starts out Psalm 124 with reflection: “If it had not been the Lord who was on our side…” Wow! Have you ever been in a situation where you knew that God was on your side?

There was something about seeing your circumstances changed despite your best efforts to ruin it. It is that overwhelming sense that it had to be God, stepping in and doing something that only He could do.

For David, it was that feeling of forgiveness. It was that pain of seeing his newborn son die and feeling that reassurance that the baby was with God.

It was knowing that his own sexual appetites brought death and rape into his family, but God still loved him anyway.

It’s a humble feeling to know that you deserve the worst, yet God has had mercy on you and those you love. To be guilty and receive mercy.

If it had not been for Jesus…!

🗡️ I would have been killed when I was attacked,
🌊 I would have drowned in the floods of mental anguish,
💔 My life would have been washed away into ruin.

Praise be to Jesus!

He had mercy and pulled us out, just in time.
