Obey Me!

Obey Me!

Jeremiah 11v7 “From the time I brought your ancestors up from Egypt until today, I warned them again and again, saying, “Obey me.””

There was a lot of history between the time that God brought the Israelites out of Egypt until this day, when Jeremiah is proclaiming a warning…again.

Obedience is not something that God suggests, He commands. Yet, just because He commands obedience, it doesn’t mean that He forces obedience on His people.

The warning that God is giving to the people at this time in Bible history is to turn from their evil ways.

This isn’t always easy to understand, especially in our modern society where evil is masked by “mistakes that were made.” The motives and actions of humanity falls into one of two categories, Obedience and Disobedience to God.

If you are not obeying, then you are disobeying. Good or Evil.

Life is not always black and white and these distinctions can be hard to rationalize in our lives.

Yet God WARNS us that if we continue to do things our way and not His, then trouble will eventually come because of our disobedience.

There is a way to avert trouble that comes because of our disobedience and that is to repent.

Repentance is first a change in your thinking and then a change in your actions.

God is ALWAYS willing to accept our change, when it’s toward His way of doing things.
