Embracing God’s Choice

Embracing God’s Choice

Moses, chosen by God, experienced a life-altering encounter in the presence of the divine. In this extraordinary moment, he felt the sheer power and greatness of God. However, Moses also faced personal doubts and fears as he was tasked with delivering the Hebrew people from slavery. Let us delve deeper into Moses’ journey and the valuable lessons we can learn from his faith and trust in God’s plan.

Obstacles and Genuine Concerns

Moses, having fled Egypt after committing murder, lived a humble life in obscurity. Now, confronted by God’s call to return and deliver His people, Moses hesitated. He raised valid concerns about his safety and his ability to persuade the mighty Pharaoh. Yet, God, in His infinite wisdom, understood Moses’ fears and addressed them with compassion.

Moses’ genuine concerns were rooted in his past experiences and the fear of potential rejection or harm. It is crucial to acknowledge that God understands our fears and doubts, just as He did for Moses. Our concerns may seem valid and overwhelming, but God’s response is often filled with reassurance and guidance.

Overcoming Fear and Embracing God’s Plan

Acts 7:22 – “Moses was educated in all the wisdom of the Egyptians and was powerful in speech and action.”

Moses, despite his exceptional education and eloquence, let fear hinder him from fully embracing God’s plan. The weight of the task before him seemed insurmountable, but God, the one who called Moses, knew the journey ahead. With unwavering love and patience, God assured Moses that He would make the people listen through miraculous signs. Additionally, God provided Aaron as Moses’ voice, demonstrating that He had chosen Moses for a purpose beyond his past.

Moses’ journey teaches us the importance of surrendering our fears to God and embracing His plan for our lives. Often, our fears become barriers that prevent us from stepping into the fullness of God’s calling. However, God’s promises and provisions surpass our limitations. He equips us with the necessary tools and support to accomplish His purposes. We can find comfort and courage in knowing that God is with us every step of the way.

A Trusting Partnership: Moses and Aaron

Exodus 4:16 – “He shall speak for you to the people, and he will be your mouth, and you shall be as God to him.”

The bond between Moses and Aaron exemplifies the importance of trust in fulfilling God’s calling. Moses, chosen by God, was tasked with leading the Israelites out of Egypt, but he recognized the need for a partner in the journey. Aaron listened to Moses as if he were listening to God Himself, enabling them to work together effectively. This trust was crucial for the success of their mission.

The partnership between Moses and Aaron reminds us of the significance of unified effort in fulfilling God’s purposes. When we surround ourselves with trustworthy companions who share our faith and vision, we create a supportive community that enables us to face challenges with strength and resilience. In unity, we can accomplish far more than we could ever achieve alone.

Jesus: The Word of God Incarnate

John 10:30 – “I and the Father are one.”

Jesus, surpassing Moses, proclaimed His divine unity with the Father. He went beyond being a mere mouthpiece, for He was the embodiment of God’s Word. Jesus only spoke what the Father revealed to Him, demonstrating His unique relationship with God and His authority as the Son of God.

In declaring His oneness with the Father, Jesus revealed a depth of divine unity that surpassed any previous human relationship with God. Unlike Moses and Aaron, where the communication flowed from God to Moses and then to Aaron, Jesus claimed a direct and inseparable connection with the Father. He not only spoke on behalf of God, but He embodied the very essence and nature of God.

John 14:9 – “Jesus answered: ‘Don’t you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?'”

Jesus’ unique relationship with the Father highlights His divine authority and serves as a profound example for us. It reminds us that in our pursuit of fulfilling God’s calling in our lives, we must seek a personal and intimate relationship with Him. Just as Jesus relied on the Father for His words and actions, we too should align our hearts and minds with God’s will, seeking His guidance and surrendering to His divine authority.

Embracing God’s Plan and Applying It to Our Lives

Moses’ encounter with the divine and his subsequent obedience serve as a powerful reminder that God’s chosen ones can overcome their fears and fulfill their calling. Moses’ journey from doubt to trust demonstrates the transformative power of encountering God and embracing His plan. As we reflect on Moses’ story, we can apply these valuable lessons to our own lives.

  1. Trusting in God’s choice for us, even when we doubt our abilities (Jeremiah 29:11). We must remember that God’s plans for us are greater than our self-doubt. He equips us and empowers us to fulfill His purposes.
  2. Seeking God’s guidance and relying on His power to overcome obstacles (Philippians 4:13). Just as God performed miracles through Moses, He is capable of working miracles in our lives. We should trust in His strength to navigate challenges and overcome any barriers we may face.
  3. Building trusting relationships with fellow believers to support and fulfill God’s purposes (Hebrews 10:24-25). Like Moses and Aaron, we should seek companions who will support us on our journey of faith. Together, we can encourage one another, share burdens, and fulfill God’s calling in unity.

Let us find inspiration in Moses’ journey and strive to embrace God’s choice for our lives, trusting in His power to guide us through every challenge. Through encounters with the divine and unwavering faith, we can overcome obstacles, fulfill our calling, and experience the transformative power of God’s presence in our lives.
