The Ocean Floor
Is it that heavy? Why haven’t you laid them down? Do you not understand the power they have over you? Is there any reason that your sins are still with you? Could it be you haven’t repented of them?
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (1John 1:9). Could it be that you believe that you deserve to carry your scarlet letter. “”Come now, let us reason together, says the LORD: though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool.” (Isaiah 1:18).
Don’t you know that laying your burden down brings a new direction? “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” (Matthew 11:28-30).
Take the yoke of Christ and be about the Fathers business. Repent and leave your sins upon His altar (the cross). What a beautiful exchange; your life for His death. Breath a sigh of relief, walk in the newness of life. For your sins can no longer weigh you down. They have been cast to the depths of the sea. Forgiven and forgotten.
